About the Role

As a Housing Officer, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality, customer-focused housing management service across a defined patch of properties. You will act as the main point of contact for residents, ensuring tenancy obligations are met, neighbourhood standards are maintained, and residents receive an excellent service. This role places a strong emphasis on tenancy management, estate management, resident engagement, and partnership working.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of tenancies and leasehold matters within a designated patch.

  • Support residents to sustain their tenancies and access appropriate services.
  • Ensure compliance with tenancy conditions and take enforcement action where required, including preparing legal casework.
  • Identify environmental and estate improvement opportunities and coordinate actions with internal teams and contractors.
  • Respond to enquiries from elected members, resident groups, solicitors, and members of the public.
  • Build effective working relationships with stakeholders including police, health services, support agencies, and community groups.
  • Monitor communal repairs, health and safety issues, and estate standards, escalating concerns as necessary.
  • Contribute to service improvement initiatives, resident satisfaction, and positive neighbourhood outcomes.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Previous experience delivering housing management services within a social housing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation and anti-social behaviour legislation.
  • Experience managing tenancy and leasehold issues, including enforcement action.
  • Ability to investigate and manage ASB cases effectively.
  • Experience conducting home visits, estate inspections, and tenancy-related checks.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied and demanding workload.
  • Experience working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and housing management systems.
  • Ability to analyse information, make sound decisions, and resolve complex issues.

Why Apply?

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Housing Officer to join a busy and supportive housing team, making a real difference to residents and local communities while working in a flexible hybrid environment.
