Job Description

Astute's Power Team are currently recruiting for 2x Wiremen to join the HV Main Contractor on a Sub-Station extension based in NothWaste to Energy facility based in Perth and Kinross.

The Wiremen roles come with an hourly rate of 35.00 (CIS).

Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:

• Carry out the installation, termination, glanding and testing of LV control, protection and instrumentation cabling associated with the extension of an existing high-voltage substation.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and cable schedules to ensure all installations are completed accurately and in accordance with project specifications.
• Install and wire marshalling kiosks, control panels, protection relays and associated substation equipment, ensuring a high standard of workmanship throughout.
• Work alongside HV Electrical Supervisors, Engineers and Commissioning Teams to support the safe delivery and energisation of the substation extension.
• Carry out continuity, insulation resistance and point-to-point testing, assisting with pre-commissioning activities and the identification and rectification of any faults.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with site safety procedures, permit-to-work systems and company quality standards.
• Maintain accurate records of completed installations and report progress, defects or technical issues to the Electrical Supervisor.
• Support the completion of snagging activities and final project handover, ensuring all works meet client and project requirements
• ECS/JIB Gold Card and relevant electrical qualifications (City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).

Desirable:

• Hold CAT 1 and CAT 3 National Grid substation certifications (or be willing to obtain/renew them).
• Previous experience working on National Grid or DNO substation projects up to 400kV.

• 35.00 per hour
• Immediate start date
• 5 months
