Belcan is seeking a Systems Engineer in Portsmouth!

Contract: 6 months | IR35: inside

Pay Rate: Up to £60/ph

Hybrid working (4 days onsite per week)

Are you an experienced Systems Engineer looking to work on cutting-edge satellite communication solutions? Our client is seeking a talented Systems Engineer to join their Defence & Space division in Portsmouth, working across innovative projects spanning land, sea and air domains.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer to play a key role across the full system lifecycle - from concept development through to operational deployment and in-service support.

Key Responsibilities

As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and leading various elements of the systems engineering life-cycle. You will identify stakeholders, capture and validate requirements, and define solution boundaries. You will design system architectures, conduct modelling and performance analysis, and lead trade-off decisions to select optimal solutions. You'll also manage interface requirements, drive verification and validation activities, and support system integration and operational evaluation throughout the product life-cycle.

Requirements

Essential:

Degree-qualified in an engineering discipline (as recognised by IET)

Strong experience across systems engineering lifecycle activities (requirements, architecture, verification & validation)

Ability to apply structured systems engineering methodologies

Experience analysing and translating stakeholder needs into technical solutions

Strong understanding of system design, integration, and lifecycle management

Ability to obtain or hold SC clearanceDesirable:

Knowledge of military standards

Experience with military satellite communications systems

Chartered Engineer status (or working towards)
