Carbon60 are recruiting for a manual machinist to work for a large engineering company that provide pumps, compressors, turbines, and generators.
This manual machinist role is on a temporary 6-month basis and has become available due to continued growth and expansion. The ideal candidate is someone who is apprenticeship trained (or a relevant qualification) and has worked within a related industry.
Role Responsibilities:
Ability to setup machine tools: Grinders, Lathes, Horizontal Boring Mill, and Vertical Boring Mills
Read and interpret engineering drawings, and process cards to determine dimensions, tolerances, and materials required.
Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines, such as lubrication, cleaning, and tool sharpening.
Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
Skills and Experience required:
Apprentice trained is advantageous (a relevant qualification will also be considered).
Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of machine tools and their functions.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work.
