Site Engineer - Peterborough

£350 per day (CIS / Umbrella)

8-Month Contract

Start Date: 18/05

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a major project in Peterborough on an 8-month contract, with an immediate start available.

This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented engineer with strong setting out and quality assurance experience to contribute to a busy site environment.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out accurate setting out using Total Station

Maintain and manage as-built surveys and site records

Ensure all quality control processes are followed, including inspections, measurement checks, and documentation in line with ITPs

Manage technical queries, drawings, and specifications for site use

Supervise subcontractors and site activities as directed

Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures, including RAMS, inductions, and toolbox talks

Issue and manage permits (e.g. Permits to Dig, Hot Works)

Maintain site diary and support short-term planning in line with the construction programme

Monitor workmanship standards, tolerances, and raise NCRs where required

Support the compilation of handover documentation (O&Ms / H&S File)

Essential Requirements

Proven setting out experience using Total Station

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability on site

Solid background in quality assurance, inspections, and record keeping

Experience working alongside site teams and subcontractors

Competent in as-built surveys and quality documentation

Desirable

Experience on civil engineering or structural projects (bridges / heavy structures highly desirable)

Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and method statements

Understanding of tolerances, workmanship standards, and NCR processes

Proactive approach to identifying and resolving site issues
