Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) - Speech & Language Specialism | Northampton | Immediate & September Starts

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking skilled and compassionate Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) with a specialism in speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) to support a range of SEND schools across Northampton.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within dedicated specialist provisions, supporting pupils with high-functioning autism, speech and communication difficulties, and associated needs. You will play a key role in helping students access learning, build confidence, and develop vital communication and social skills.

We have a number of short-term roles available immediately, as well as longer-term opportunities starting from September, offering flexibility to suit your availability.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND

Support the delivery of tailored learning activities under teacher guidance

Implement and model effective communication strategies

Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and social interaction

Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and familiesEssential Requirements:

Proven experience supporting children or young people with high-functioning autism and speech & communication needs

Familiarity with communication methods such as Makaton, BSL, PECS, AAC or similar

A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach

Strong communication and teamwork skillsExperience in a school or specialist setting is highly desirable, though candidates with relevant care or support backgrounds will also be considered.
