We are seeking a caring, committed, and enthusiastic Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive Primary SEN school in Lambeth. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, nurturing, and experienced in supporting children with complex and varied needs in a specialist setting.

About the Role

As a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and therapists to support pupils across the primary age range. You will help create a structured, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment where every child is supported to reach their individual potential.

Key Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with a wide range of SEN

Support children with needs including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH, and learning disabilities

Assist with the delivery of tailored lessons, sensory activities, and personalised learning programmes

Support pupils with emotional regulation, communication, and social interaction

Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a safe, calm, and engaging classroom environment

Assist with personal care where required, in line with school policies

Prepare learning resources and contribute to EHCP targets and classroom planning

Build consistent, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families

What We're Looking For

Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs is essential

A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting young learners

Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt support to individual needs

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

A proactive and flexible attitude

A strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
