An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Children in Care Team at Kent County Council. This role offers the chance to work with children and young people in care, ensuring they receive consistent support, stability, and positive long-term outcomes.

You will work closely with children, foster carers, families, and partner agencies to deliver high-quality care planning and safeguarding interventions. This is an ideal opportunity for a skilled practitioner who is passionate about relationship-based practice and improving outcomes for looked after children.

You will be joining a collaborative and experienced service focused on achieving permanence, stability, and positive futures for children in care.

• Manage a caseload of children and young people within the Children in Care service
• Undertake statutory visits, assessments, and care planning responsibilities
• Build strong relationships with children, carers, and families
• Ensure care plans are progressed effectively to achieve permanence and stability
• Attend reviews, strategy meetings, and court proceedings where required
• Work alongside foster carers, education providers, health professionals, and partner agencies
• Safeguard children and promote their welfare at all times
• Maintain accurate case recordings and reports in line with statutory guidance

• Social Work England registration
• Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification
• Significant post-qualified experience within Children s Services
• Experience working within Children in Care or Looked After Children teams
• Strong safeguarding and care planning knowledge
• Ability to manage complex caseloads effectively
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
