Location: Lambeth (near Stockwell / Brixton)

Start Date: June 2026

Contract: Full-time | Long-term

Pay: £95-£115 per day

Setting: SEMH Provision within Mainstream Primary School

A forward-thinking primary school in Lambeth is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join their SEMH provision from June 2026.

This Teaching Assistant role will involve supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs within a specialist unit attached to the mainstream school. The successful Teaching Assistant will help pupils access learning, regulate behaviour and build confidence through consistent support and structured routines.

Alongside classroom support, the Teaching Assistant will deliver targeted phonics and maths interventions to help pupils close learning gaps and re-engage positively with education.

The school has a strong inclusion team, clear behaviour systems and a supportive leadership structure. Staff within the provision work collaboratively to create a calm and nurturing environment where pupils feel safe and supported.

Key responsibilities for the Teaching Assistant include:

Supporting pupils with SEMH needs within the provision

Delivering phonics and maths intervention sessions

Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation

Building strong relationships with pupils and staff

Working closely with teachers and the SEN teamThe ideal Teaching Assistant will:

Have experience supporting pupils with SEMH or SEN

Be calm, resilient and consistent in approach

Be confident running small group interventions

Demonstrate strong communication and behaviour management skills
