KS2 Teaching Assistant - Full Time - Islington - September 2026 Start

A vibrant and supportive primary school based in Islington is looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic KS2 Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children to achieve both academically and socially within a positive and inclusive school environment.

KS2 Teaching Assistant - The Role:

Full-time position, Monday to Friday
Working hours: 08:30am - 3:30pm
Start date: September 2026 or sooner
Long-term role until July 2027
Supporting across KS2 classrooms
General classroom support role with additional support for pupils with SEND and mixed abilities

The ideal candidate will:

Have previous experience working within a primary school setting
Have strong experience supporting KS2 pupils
Have experience supporting pupils with SEND, including Autism, ADHD and speech and language needs
Be proactive, adaptable and confident supporting mixed-ability learners
Have a passion for motivating and supporting children to reach their full potential
Demonstrate strong behaviour management and communication skills

Main responsibilities will include:

Supporting pupils across KS2 during lessons and independent learning activities
Delivering targeted interventions in Maths, Literacy and phonics where required
Supporting pupils with SEND on a 1:1 basis and within small groups
Helping to adapt learning activities to meet the needs of mixed-ability learners
Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement and confidence within the classroom
Supporting the Class Teacher with classroom preparation and organisation
Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
Creating a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment for all children
