Project Manager / Senior Sub Agent – Major Rail Infrastructure Scheme

Location: Ravensthorpe, West Yorkshire

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Long-term infrastructure project

Salary: Competitive + package (DOE)

A leading UK civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager or Senior Sub Agent to join a major rail infrastructure scheme in West Yorkshire.

This is an excellent opportunity to take a key delivery role on a nationally significant project forming part of one of the UK's largest rail improvement programmes.

The Project

The successful candidate will join a major rail enhancement scheme that is helping transform rail connectivity, capacity and reliability across the North of England.

The project consists of a wide range of complex civil engineering works, including:

Major earthworks and excavation packages

*

New and modified rail infrastructure

*

Bridge construction and structural alterations

*

Retaining walls and reinforced concrete structures

*

Drainage and utility diversion works

*

Highway and access road improvements

*

Temporary works and enabling packages

*

Coordination of multiple subcontractors and specialist disciplines within a live infrastructure environment

The scheme presents significant engineering and logistical challenges, requiring careful planning, stakeholder management and coordination across several work fronts.

The Role

Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for the safe and successful delivery of key project packages.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing site delivery teams and engineering staff

*

Overseeing subcontractor performance and programme delivery

*

Driving health, safety, environmental and quality standards

*

Monitoring progress against programme milestones

*

Managing project risks and resolving technical issues

*

Supporting commercial performance and project reporting

*

Liaising with clients, stakeholders and project partners

Requirements

*

Previous experience as a Project Manager, Senior Sub Agent or equivalent within civil engineering

*

Strong background in rail, highways, heavy civils or major infrastructure projects

*

Experience managing multidisciplinary construction teams

*

Strong programme and stakeholder management skills

*

Excellent understanding of construction delivery, safety and quality processes

*

Relevant engineering or construction qualifications preferred
