Location: Hackney, East London
Rate: 45.20 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: 3-6 Months+ (with potential extension)
Hours: Full Time

Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join a well-established Children's Services team within the London Borough of Hackney.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and dedicated practitioner to play a key role in promoting positive outcomes for children and young people in care, ensuring that care planning remains robust, child-focused, and compliant with statutory requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Chair statutory Looked After Children (LAC) Reviews and monitor the implementation of care plans.
Ensure that the voice of the child remains central to all planning and decision-making processes.
Provide independent oversight and challenge where required to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people.
Monitor the quality and effectiveness of care planning and service delivery.
Escalate concerns through formal dispute resolution processes where necessary.
Work collaboratively with social workers, managers, carers, families, and partner agencies.
Experience chairing complex reviews and providing effective professional challenge.
Excellent communication, analytical, and report-writing skills.
