Job Role: Religious Education Teacher.

Location: Lightcliffe Academy, Halifax.

Contract type: Long Term contract.

Start Date: September 2026.

The Supply Register is proud to be working in partnership with Lightcliffe Academy and is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Religious Education Teacher to join their successful team on a long-term basis from September 2026.

Your Role

As a Religious Education Teacher, you will:

• Deliver engaging and inspiring Religious Education lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Encourage students to develop critical thinking, debate, and analytical skills.
• Promote understanding, respect, and appreciation of different faiths and worldviews.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Assess, monitor, and support student progress.
• Contribute to the wider success of the Humanities department and school community.

What We're Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Religious Education within a secondary school setting.
• Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the Religious Education curriculum.
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Ability to inspire, motivate, and engage learners of all abilities.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.
