Liverpool Bay Carbon Capture & Storage Project - Major Energy Construction Project

📍 Talacre, North Wales

💰 Competitive Day Rate – Negotiable

🕒 Outside IR35

📅 5.5 Days Per Week (Monday to Friday, plus Saturday mornings when required)

⏳ 12+ Month Contract (Project expected to run until 2028)

Ceto Talent is proud to be representing a leading Tier 1 Energy EPC contractor delivering a major Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) project as part of the Liverpool Bay development.

We are seeking an experienced Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) to join the Environmental Team supporting construction activities on this nationally significant energy transition project.

Your role:

As Ecological Clerk of Work you will be part of the QHSE department within the Environmental team. You will support, oversee and monitor the Construction Contractor with the implementation of measures defined within the OCEMP. You will ensure pre-construction surveys are undertaken and any advance mitigation measures required are implemented. You will join our ENI Liverpool Bay Project (Decommissioning & Carbon Capture and Storage).

Responsibilities:

* Provide ecological advice to the Construction Contractor over the entire construction program

* Undertake or oversee pre-construction surveys for protected species in the areas affected by the TCPA Proposed Development

* Monitor ecological conditions during the Construction Stage to identify additional constraints that may arise as a result of natural changes to the ecological baseline over time (e.g. the monitoring of badger activity within and in close proximity to construction works)

* Provide ecological toolbox talks to site personnel (including ecological receptors) to make them aware of ecological constraints and information

* Highlight mitigation to minimize impacts and make site personnel aware of their responsibility with regards to wildlife and sensitive habitats in the context of legislation and policy

* Monitor the implementation of mitigation measures during the Construction Stage to ensure compliance with protected species legislation, licensing, and commitments within the ES

* Deliver coherent and timely solutions to ecological constraints

Requirements:

* BEng or BSc majoring in Ecology, Environmental Sciences or similar

* Proven experience in ecological activities, preferably for an Oil & Gas project with environmental challenges or COMAH level site.

* UK and/or Welsh environmental legislation

* Habitat and protected species ecology

* Membership of the CIEEM and/or of the AEECoW or working towards it

* UK driving licence

* Right to work in the UK without sponsorship
