Temporary Maintenance & Cleaning Operative

Pay Rate: 13.45 per hour
Contract: Temporary (Minimum 6 Weeks)
Hours: Up to 37.5 hours per week

We are seeking a reliable and flexible Temporary Maintenance & Cleaning Operative to provide cover for holidays, sickness, and other staffing requirements.

This is a hands-on role involving a variety of outdoor cleaning and general maintenance duties to ensure public areas are kept clean, safe, and well-presented.

Key Duties:

• General maintenance and upkeep of outdoor areas
• Outdoor cleaning and litter removal
• Setting out and managing waste bins
• Maintaining cleanliness across designated sites
• Responding to cleaning requirements as they arise
• Cleaning and removal of bodily fluids, including vomit, in line with health and safety procedures

Working Hours:

• Up to 37.5 hours per week
• Typical shifts are:
  • 11-hour shifts (including a 1-hour unpaid break)
  • 8-hour shifts (including a 30-minute unpaid break)

Requirements:

• Reliable, punctual, and flexible
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Able to carry out physically demanding duties
• Previous cleaning or maintenance experience is desirable but not essential
• Awareness of health and safety practices is advantageous

This temporary position is expected to last for a minimum of 6 weeks, with the possibility of an extension for the right candidate
