Java Full Stack Developer

Location: Manchester, UK

Working Model: Office-Based (3 Days per Week)

Contract Type: Contract

Duration: 12 Months

Rate: £500 per day

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Java Full Stack Developer to join a large-scale technology programme within the financial services sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining modern enterprise applications, working across both backend and frontend technologies in a fast-paced Agile environment.

This role offers the opportunity to work on business-critical systems, leveraging cloud-native technologies, microservices architecture, and modern development practices.

Key Responsibilities

* Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based microservices using Spring Boot.

* Build responsive and intuitive front-end applications using Angular or React.

* Develop and integrate RESTful APIs to support enterprise-wide applications and services.

* Collaborate with business analysts, architects, developers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

* Ensure application performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.

* Participate in code reviews and promote software engineering best practices.

* Support deployment activities and contribute to CI/CD initiatives.

* Troubleshoot production issues and provide ongoing application support.

* Contribute to Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

* Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend continuous improvements.

Essential Skills & Experience

* Strong commercial experience with Java and Spring Boot.

* Proven experience developing RESTful APIs and Microservices architectures.

* Experience with front-end frameworks such as Angular or React.

* Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

* Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.

* Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

* Strong understanding of Git and modern version control practices.

* Experience working within Agile delivery environments.

* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Desirable Skills

* Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

* Knowledge of messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.

* Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD tools including Jenkins or GitHub Actions.

* Understanding of API security frameworks including OAuth2, JWT, and Keycloak.

* Experience working within Banking, Financial Services, or Capital Markets environments.
