Rail Semi Skilled Fitter

Location: Birkenhead

Pay: £14.88 per hour (PAYE goes up to £16.53 after completing competencies)

Progression: Up to £31,811 upon successful completion of competencies

The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Rail Component Cleaner / Stripper to join a modern and well-maintained facility in Birkenhead. This is a hands-on role focused on the stripping, cleaning, and preparation of rail components as part of rolling stock overhaul operations.

You will be working as part of a friendly, professional team in a clean environment, using new technologies and updated processes to support efficient and high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities

Stripping down rail components and assemblies

Cleaning parts to required standards using appropriate methods

Preparing components for inspection, repair, or reassembly

Following safety, quality, and process procedures

Maintaining a clean and organised working area

Working Hours

Monday – Thursday: 7:30am – 4:30pm

Friday: 7:30am – 12:30pm (Unpaid lunch breaks)

Enjoy an early finish every Friday

Starting rate: £14.88 per hour (PAYE)

Structured progression with salary increasing to £31,811 once competencies are achieved
