HGV CLASS 2 DRIVER - BIRMINGHAM (ASTON, WEST MIDLANDS)

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 2 Driver to join our well-established client based in Birmingham (Aston), West Midlands.

Immediate starts available. Ongoing full-time work with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract. Monday to Friday working pattern, weekly pay and rates of up to £17.20 per hour.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver looking for long-term stability with a reputable employer.

This role would suit candidates with previous experience as an HGV Class 2 Driver, LGV Class 2 Driver, Category C Driver, Multi-Drop Driver, Delivery Driver or Distribution Driver.

Shifts:

Day-to-Day Duties:

As an HGV Class 2 Driver, your duties will include (but not be limited to):

• Carrying out multi-drop store deliveries across the region • Loading and unloading goods, including handballing where required • Operating a Category C vehicle safely and efficiently • Completing vehicle checks before and after shifts • Ensuring all loads are secured correctly prior to transit • Using tail lifts and electric/manual pump trucks • Completing delivery paperwork accurately • Communicating professionally with the transport team and customers • Adhering to all road transport and health & safety regulations • Typically completing 7-8 deliveries or collections per shift

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will need:

• A valid UK Category C (Class 2) Driving Licence • A minimum of 24 months' Class 2 driving experience • A valid CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card • No more than 6 penalty points (no major endorsements) • A good level of spoken and written English • Strong timekeeping and reliability • A good understanding of road safety and driving regulations • Excellent communication skills

Desirable Experience:

• Previous multi-drop delivery experience • Experience using tail lifts and pump trucks • Background within retail or store delivery environments

Training Provided:

• Full paid induction and ongoing support provided • Site-specific training on processes and procedures
