Reception Teaching Assistant

Hackney Full-Time September 2026 Start SANZA Teaching Agency

100 per day for the first 12 weeks 116 per day thereafter.

SANZA Teaching Agency is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and community-focused two-form entry primary school in the heart of Hackney.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Reception Teaching Assistant to join the school's Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team for the new academic year. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced Early Years practitioners in a nurturing Reception setting where children are encouraged to learn through exploration, play and outdoor experiences.

The school benefits from a central Hackney location with excellent transport links, making it easily accessible from across London. Trials are taking place now for a September start.

The Role

As a Reception Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support children within a busy and engaging Reception classroom.

Deliver targeted intervention groups to support early learning and development.

Work closely with the class teacher and wider EYFS team to provide high-quality learning experiences.

Support pupils with a range of additional needs and learning barriers.

Help create a stimulating environment where children feel safe, happy and confident to learn.

The Ideal Candidate

This position would particularly suit an Early Years Practitioner or Teaching Assistant who:

Has experience working within EYFS or Reception.

Has a strong understanding of child development and early learning.

Enjoys outdoor learning and understands the positive impact it has on children's development and wellbeing.

Is excited by the opportunity to make use of the school's beautiful outdoor provision and weekly Forest School sessions.

Has experience supporting, or a genuine interest in working with, children with additional needs.

Is patient, resilient and committed to helping every child reach their potential.

Due to the high level of need within the cohort, experience of supporting pupils with SEND or additional learning needs would be highly advantageous. A genuine passion for inclusion and supporting children to overcome barriers to learning is essential.
