Food Technology Teacher - Specialist SEND School

Location: Lambeth, South London (SE11)
Start Date: September 2026
Daily Rate: 180 - 210 (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, long-term, Temp to Perm for the right candidate

The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Food Technology Teacher to join a highly supportive specialist secondary provision in South London this September.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a purpose-built SEND setting, supporting students aged 11-19 with Autism (ASC) and associated needs. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, practical Food Technology lessons while promoting independence, life skills, and confidence.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons tailored to students with SEND
• Adapt teaching to meet individual EHCP targets and learning needs
• Support pupils in developing practical life skills, independence, and safe food preparation techniques
• Work collaboratively with LSAs, therapists, and pastoral staff
• Create a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level
• Previous experience in SEND, SEMH, or autism-focused settings (highly desirable)
• Confident in differentiating lessons for a range of abilities
• Patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting young people with additional needs
