Class 1 Driver - Early AM's

Location: Bedford (MK43)

Contract: Ongoing Temporary (Year-round stability)

Earnings: From 22.41 up to 49.61ph

Class 1 Night Driver Opportunity

Join Gi Group supporting one of the UK's biggest supermarkets, as a Class 1 Early AM Driver. This isn't just seasonal help; we are looking for professional drivers for a long-term partnership client in , Bedford. You will play a vital role in keeping the nation fed by delivering to stores and petrol stations across the region.

Role & Responsibilities :

• Chilled & frozen loads, mostly stored in cages but some cases may be pallets
• 1-3 store deliveries , this can be to supermarkets or petrol station stores
• Drivers must be flexible to operate Class 1and Class 2 vehicles (always paid at Class 1 rate)
• Conducting thorough vehicle checks and maintaining accurate digital tachograph records.
• Drivers must drive as per clients professional standards which you will be coached and trained on
• Ability to manage your Working Time Directive, and Driving Hours rules and Regulations in order to meet compliance expectations, and avoid infringement
• Acting as a professional face of the brand when arriving at stores

Shifts :

• Daily and Weekly Bookings
• Available start time windows : 01:00 am - 03:00 am
• Minimum 1 weekend day availability is a must
• Weekend only work available
• Full time and part time opportunities

Benefits & Pay Rates :

• Automatic pay rises at 12 and 27 weeks
• Double pay on Bank Holidays (up to 49.61ph)

Days 06:00-14:00 : STD 19.05ph & Overtime 26.81ph

Bacs 14:00-22:00 : STD 20.45ph & Overtime 28.21ph

Nights 22:00-06:00 : STD 22.41ph & Overtime 30.17ph

WK 12 Rates - Please note the below includes your advanced holiday pay

Days 06:00-14:00 : STD 19.47ph & Overtime 27.40ph

Backs 14:00-22:00 : STD 22.10ph & Overtime 30.03ph

Nights 22:00-06:00 : STD 23.66ph & Overtime 31.59ph

WK27 Rates - Please note the below includes your advanced holiday pay

Days 06:00-14:00 : STD 20.57ph & Overtime 28.50ph

Backs 14:00-22:00 : STD 24.81ph & Overtime 31.18ph

Nights 22:00-06:00 : STD 24.81ph & Overtime 32.73ph

Class 1 Driver Requirements

• Valid UK Driver Cards (Driving Licence, CPC and DIGI Cards)
• Minimum 6 months Class 1 licence + 6 months Class 1 driving experience
• Previous experience in store deliveries would be preferred, but is not essential
• Max 6 penalty points accepted for minor offences (no DR or DD offences)
• Availability to work weekends is essential for this 24/7 operation
• Will have the ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills, as well as an attention to detail
