ASD Teaching Assistant

Location: Lewisham, South East London

Pay: £95-£115 per day

Start Date: As soon as possible

We are working with a supportive school in Lewisham, seeking a dedicated ASD Teaching Assistant to support pupils with autism. This is a rewarding role for someone patient, consistent and confident supporting children with additional needs in a structured environment.

You will be supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them to access learning, manage sensory needs and develop communication and independence skills.

The Role:

Support pupils with autism in the classroom

Provide 1:1 and small group support

Assist with communication using visuals, PECS or other strategies

Support emotional regulation and behaviour

Help maintain clear routines and structure

Support personal care where required

Work closely with teachers and the SEN team

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have experience supporting children with ASD (school or care background)

Be calm, patient and reliable

Understand sensory needs and structured routines

Be confident supporting behaviour and emotional needs

Be comfortable with personal care if required

Work well as part of a team
