Role Overview
The Junior Risk Analyst plays a key role in supporting the wider Risk Management department through upholding key reports and monitoring, alongside providing insights and recommendations around reporting and department processes. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, reliability and problem-solving.
? How You Can Make a Difference.
• Act as Second Line of Defence in monitoring client and broker positions and funding levels, especially with regards to stop out risk at brokers and credit utilisation of clients.
• Trade surveillance & monitoring of client trading activity to detect any potentially toxic or abusive trading practices.
• Review operational incidents to ensure they are appropriately documented, and remedial actions are taken.
• Highlight and report any potential issues or risks to Senior staff, alongside any recommendations of improvement within work completed / processes.
• Delivery key daily / monthly risk reports.
• Assist in compiling metrics / data with regards to client requests for changes to margin and position limits.
• Uphold relationships with other relevant teams to ensure processes / issues are managed correctly. Namely B2B and Trade Solutions to help solve client issues and ensure set-up accuracy.
• Work closely with trade support and systematic trading teams, to ensure limits are adhered to correctly in correspondence with board set risk limits.
• To help / assist with risk functions in any new lines of business or offerings at a group level.
• Respond to and provide support for any informational requests / ad hoc tasks from Senior Management.
Skills and Experience
• Educated to A-level standard or equivalent; a degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field is preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in financial services, trading, or a banking environment is beneficial but not essential.
• Strong spreadsheet software skills, including use of pivot tables and basic formulas with the ability to work effectively across various internal platforms and systems.
• Basic understanding of the financial services industry and key risk concepts.
