Lewisham College, part of the NCG college group, is looking for enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistants to join our team and support our 16–18-year-old learners with a range of learning difficulties. About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support students in the classroom and during learning activities. You’ll play a key role in helping learners develop independence, engage with their studies and succeed in a supportive and inclusive environment.

You will be working with students who may have a variety of learning needs, so patience, empathy and strong communication skills are essential.

We’re looking for someone who is:

Passionate about supporting young people with additional learning needs

Patient, positive, and encouraging

Able to build strong relationships with students and staff

Committed to helping learners achieve their full potential

Essential requirements:

GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)

Experience working with young people or young adults with learning difficulties

Role: Learning Support Assistant

Location: Lewisham College

Contract: Fixed term – 1 year

Start Date: September 2026
