Role Overview
Are you confident, organised, and passionate about supporting students in their learning journey? We’re looking for an enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Barnet. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced education professionals looking to make a meaningful contribution in the classroom. As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences. You’ll deliver pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects and year groups (Key Stages 3–5), manage classroom behaviour, and ensure students stay engaged and focused. Each day offers something different — a chance to develop your leadership skills, build strong relationships, and gain valuable experience in education.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervising classes during teacher absences, following provided lesson plans.
• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning atmosphere.
• Encouraging participation and supporting student progress.
• Assisting with general school duties and activities where needed Ideal Candidate:
• Confident, adaptable, and professional in classroom settings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous school experience or a desire to pursue a teaching career.
• A proactive, reliable, and supportive approach to student learning.
