Job Description

We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and hardworking School Caretaker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, clean, secure, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

The position involves carrying out day-to-day site maintenance, security checks, and general caretaking duties to ensure the school premises are well maintained and fully operational.

• Opening and/or locking the school premises as required.
• Conducting regular security and safety checks of buildings and grounds.
• Carrying out minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Monitoring and maintaining heating, lighting, and other building systems.
• Ensuring the school site is clean, tidy, and free from hazards.
• Supporting contractors and service providers working on site.
• Assisting with room setups for school events and activities.
• Reporting maintenance issues and health and safety concerns promptly.
• Supporting emergency procedures when required.

• Previous caretaking, maintenance, facilities, or site management experience.
• Good practical skills and the ability to undertake minor repairs.
• A strong understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• The ability to work independently and use initiative.
• A flexible and positive approach to work.
• Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with staff, pupils, and visitors.
