Location: Sunderland College - Bede Campus Contract: Temporary with Potential to Become Permanent Hours: 22.2 Hours per Week Start Date: End of August / Beginning of September 2026 Rate: £21.80 - £42.03 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications) Employer: The Supply Register (on behalf of Education Partnership North East)

The Supply Register is recruiting on behalf of Sunderland College for a Computing & Digital Technology Lecturer to join their successful curriculum team from the start of the new academic year.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Computing Lecturer, Digital Technology Lecturer, IT Teacher, or industry professional looking to share their knowledge and inspire the next generation of digital talent.

The successful candidate will deliver Level 3 IT programmes and Access to HE Diploma courses in Computing & Digital Technology, supporting learners to develop the technical knowledge and skills required for further study, apprenticeships, and careers within the digital sector.

This opportunity has the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.

The Role

As a Computing & Digital Technology Lecturer, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality teaching across Level 3 IT and Access to HE Computing programmes

  • Support learners to develop both theoretical knowledge and practical digital skills

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver inclusive learning sessions

  • Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback

  • Support adult learners studying towards Access to HE qualifications

  • Create a positive and professional learning environment

  • Contribute to learner achievement and progression

Timetable

Monday: 8:30am - 4:30pmTuesday: 5:00pm - 9:00pmThursday: 8:30am - 4:30pm and 5:00pm - 9:00pm

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Relevant qualification in Computing, Computer Science, IT, Digital Technology, or a related subject

  • Experience teaching or training within Computing, IT, or Digital Technologies

  • Strong communication and organisational skills

  • Ability to engage and support learners from a range of backgrounds

  • Commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning

Desirable:

  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DET, DTLLS or equivalent)

  • Experience delivering Level 3 IT qualifications

  • Experience teaching Access to HE programmes

  • Industry experience within Computing, IT, Software Development, Cyber Security, Networking, or Digital Technologies

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)
