Mechanical Technician (Contract)

Swindon

£18 – £25 per hour

Our client, based in Swindon, is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Technician to join their growing engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician with a strong background in mechanical assembly, the use of hand and machine tools, and the build of complex mechanical machinery to become part of a well-established company.

Mechanical Technician Roles and Responsibilities:

* Assemble complex mechanical machinery and sub-assemblies using engineering drawings and specifications

* Work confidently with a wide range of hand tools and machine tools

* Carry out mechanical fitting, alignment, adjustment, and testing of components

* Identify and resolve mechanical issues during assembly and testing

* Ensure all work is completed accurately, safely, and to required quality standards

* Collaborate with engineering teams to support continuous improvement and efficient production

Mechanical Technician Ideal Candidate:

* Previous experience in a mechanical technician, mechanical fitter, or similar engineering role

* Strong practical knowledge of hand tools and workshop equipment

* Experience assembling complex mechanical systems or machinery

* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

* Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship

* Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
