Job Title: Game Design Tutor (Level One Tutor for online learning)
Location: Reading
Salary: £24,000 - £30,000 DOE
Job type: Full Time, Fixed-term contract (12 months), linked to funding. Continued funding is expected, so the role is likely to be extended beyond the initial 12 months (subject to confirmation). 35 hour working week.
Start date: Immediate.
About Enemy of Boredom Enemy of Boredom:
(EOB) is a video game design training centre working with young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to build futures. We are seeking video game design tutors for Level 3 courses in Bracknell.
The Role:
As a Game Design Tutor, your task is to equip neurodivergent young people with the video game design skills needed to create a more beautiful digital world. Working both online and in person. You will be offering students opportunities to enable them to have maximum capabilities and confidence through learning video game design - education without boundaries.
Safeguarding, health & safety:
Follow safeguarding policies and report any concerns immediately in line with procedure.
Support online safety practices where delivery includes digital platforms.
Adhere to health and safety guidance, including risk assessments for practical activities.Skills and abilities that EOB look for:
You need to be trained to degree level in video game related courses or have industry experience
Current teaching qualification or willing to take one on
A keen interested in pop culture and passionate about the games industry
Can understand young people and their differences when learning to help promote growth
Comfortable working in the venue as well as online with student
A genuine enjoyment of lesson and workshop planning
The ability to report and record data and progress
Self-motivated and can contribute ideas for continuous improvement
Solid organisation skills and the ability to adapt and be flexible to tasksDuties and responsibilities:
Teaching;
Plan and teach well-structured lessons to assigned classes, following EOB's plans, curriculum and schemes of work
Assess, monitor, record and report on the learning needs, progress and achievements of assigned pupils, making accurate and productive use of assessment
Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of pupils
Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils
Promote good progress and outcomes by pupils
Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge
Run EHCPs relevant to your students
Participate in arrangements for preparing pupils for external testsBenefits:
