We're recruiting for a Sub-Agent to join a major highways project in Cumbria during its Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phase. This is a long-term project offering £500 per day Inside IR35, providing the chance to be involved from the early design and planning stages through to delivery.

Why This Opportunity?

This nationally significant highways improvement scheme will involve major upgrades to an existing strategic road network, including new dual carriageway sections, junction enhancements, utility diversions, stakeholder coordination and extensive pre-construction planning. The project team is currently focused on detailed design development, buildability reviews, programme planning, subcontractor engagement and construction readiness activities.

For the successful Sub-Agent, this means the opportunity to influence delivery strategy from day one while securing a position on a project with a substantial construction programme ahead.

The Role

As Sub-Agent, you'll be responsible for:

·Managing and coordinating subcontractors

·Leading and mentoring a team of Site Engineers and Section Engineers

·Supporting construction planning and methodology development during ECI

·Ensuring programme, quality and safety objectives are achieved

·Managing temporary works, permits and site documentation

·Liaising with design teams, commercial teams and key stakeholders

·Driving efficient delivery and maintaining project controls

·Contributing to risk management and buildability reviews

What We're Looking For

·Proven experience as a Sub-Agent on highways

·Strong subcontractor management experience

·Experience leading engineering teams on site

·Excellent understanding of NEC contracts

·Ability to work within a collaborative ECI environment

·HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline

·SMSTS and CSCS required
