Job Title: Maintenance Technicians
Job Location: Derby
Hourly Rate: 20.73 PAYE / 27.69 Umbrella
20lHours Per Week: 45hrs minimum
Duration: 6 months+
Start Date: July 2026

Position Summary:
To undertake maintenance activities and redelivery repairs on a variety of rolling stock vehicles (Diesel Multiple Units (DMU in accordance with maintenance procedures and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
Carry out planned and corrective maintenance activities
Perform component inspections, assessments and exchanges as specified in the maintenance instructions.
Repairing oil and coolant leaks.
Renewal of fixings and fastenings.
Pipework repairs.
Vehicle decal replacement.
Component removal and replacement
Window replacement.
Interior component renewal and refurbishment.
Complete all work safely and in accordance with railway industry standards and company procedures.
Accurately complete all maintenance documentation, inspection records and sign-off sheets provided.
Identify defects and report any issues that fall outside the scope of the maintenance package.
Maintain high standards of workmanship, housekeeping and safety within the depot.
Work collaboratively with personnel and other contractors to ensure work is completed within agreed timescales.
Comply with all depot rules, safety requirements and quality management procedure

Person Profile:
A minimum of five years' experience maintaining railway rolling stock.
Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance experience.
Proven experience carrying out fault finding, inspection, repair and component replacement on rail vehicles.
Experience of planned maintenance, heavy maintenance or overhaul activities.
Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) experience is highly desirable.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices.

Education Level:
NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent is a requirement.
