The Role

A specialist alternative provision in Ealing is seeking a committed and resilient Pastoral Mentor to work with young people aged 11–16 who are currently outside of mainstream education. This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a genuine difference in the lives of vulnerable young people. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will provide consistent guidance both in and outside the classroom, supporting students to develop positive behaviours, emotional regulation skills, and a renewed sense of purpose.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Building trusted relationships with students to provide stability and support

Supporting emotional, social, and behavioural development

Helping students re-engage with learning through positive reinforcement and targeted interventions

Acting as a role model and advocate for pupils facing barriers to education

Collaborating with teaching staff and external professionals to deliver tailored support plans

What We’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate will:

Have experience supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

Be calm, empathetic, and consistent in challenging situations

Have experience working with or supporting young offenders or those at risk of exclusion

Be resilient, proactive, and passionate about helping young people break negative cycles

Thrive in a structured yet flexible environment where every day is different

What we offer

As a Specialist teaching Assistant and part of our team, you benefit from:

Excellent daily rates paid using the PAYE system.

Guaranteed pay scheme (subject to availability).

Social and networking events.

Pension contributions.

CPD to help with your professional development.

Access to a dedicated consultant.

Daily rate is subject to your scale rate, experience in role and qualifications which will be discussed at the point of registration
