KS2 Supply Teacher

About the Role

Reed Education is seeking enthusiastic and adaptable Key Stage 2 (KS2) Supply Teachers to work across a range of primary schools in Newcastle and the surrounding areas. This is a flexible role suited to both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to develop their experience across upper primary year groups.

As a supply teacher, you will deliver high-quality teaching across KS2 classes, ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of the regular class teacher.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the KS2 national curriculum
• Support pupils' academic progress, including preparation for SATs where required
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
• Follow school safeguarding policies and procedures at all times
• Effectively manage behaviour in line with school expectations
• Adapt quickly to different school environments and classroom settings
• Mark and assess pupils' work in line with school policies
• Communicate clearly with teaching staff and contribute to a collaborative school culture

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 2
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• A flexible, reliable, and proactive approach
• Up-to-date knowledge of the UK primary curriculum, including SATs preparation
• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply through Reed Education)
• Two professional references covering the last 2 years
