Pay: £100-£120 per day (dependent on experience)
SEN Teaching Assistant - Make a Lasting Difference
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Tower Hamlets is looking to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs from September 2026.
This rewarding SEN Teaching Assistant role will involve working with pupils across Key Stage 1 and Lower Key Stage 2 who have a range of needs, including Autism, speech and language difficulties and moderate learning needs. The school is committed to early intervention and provides excellent support through an experienced SENCO and specialist inclusion team.
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will play an important role in helping pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally within a nurturing mainstream environment.
The Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small intervention groups
Deliver targeted activities to develop communication, literacy and numeracy
Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs
Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour
Work closely with teachers, the SENCO and external professionals to implement support plans
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant who:
Has experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting
Is patient, adaptable and able to build positive relationships
Can use their initiative while working effectively as part of a team
Has excellent communication and behaviour management skills
Is passionate about helping every child achieve their potentialExperience supporting pupils with Autism, speech and language needs or SEMH would be advantageous but is not essential.
