Outside IR35 - £600-£700 DOE
Remote with occasional travel to Central London
6 months initial with long term extensions potential
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Workday Integration Lead to provide integration design leadership throughout our Workday implementation. This is a functional and technical design role focused on ensuring integration solutions are well-designed, meet business requirements, and are successfully tested and validated.
The successful candidate will act as the integration subject matter expert, working closely with business stakeholders, implementation partners, payroll providers, banking partners, and technical teams. This role is not responsible for building integrations but will provide oversight, design guidance, governance, and quality assurance across all Workday integrations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the integration workstream from solution design through testing and deployment.
Review and validate integration designs to ensure they align with business, security, and architectural requirements.
Define and document integration strategies, patterns, and design principles.
Work with implementation partners to challenge and validate proposed integration solutions.
Ensure integrations support business processes across HR, Payroll, Finance, and third-party systems.
Lead design discussions with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Coordinate integration dependencies across project workstreams.
Review interface specifications, mapping documents, and technical design documentation.
Support the definition of integration security, error handling, monitoring, and support processes.
Oversee end-to-end integration testing, including System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Payroll Parallel Testing.
Coordinate testing with payroll providers, banking partners, and other third-party vendors.
Validate integration results, troubleshoot issues with implementation partners, and ensure timely resolution.
Support cutover planning and go-live readiness from an integration perspective.
Identify and manage integration risks, issues, and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Experience
Proven experience leading the integration workstream on one or more Workday implementations.
Strong understanding of Workday integration architecture and design principles.
Experience reviewing Workday integration solutions without necessarily developing them.
Experience working with Workday implementation partners and third-party vendors.
Strong understanding of payroll integration processes, statutory interfaces, and banking/payment integrations.
Experience managing integration testing and defect resolution.
Ability to interpret technical integration documentation and translate technical concepts for business stakeholders.
Experience working within large transformation or ERP implementation programmes.
