Plymouth Council is offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced Childrens Social Worker to join their Child Protection Team, with a highly competitive rate of up to £45 per hour alongside a £150 weekly accommodation allowance.

The Role
You will join Plymouth Council s Child Protection Team, managing complex safeguarding cases involving children subject to Child Protection Plans, Child in Need Plans, and care proceedings. The role requires strong assessment skills, confident decision-making, and the ability to work effectively within court processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a caseload within a Child Protection Team
• Completing Child and Family Assessments
• Undertaking Section 47 investigations
• Managing Child Protection and Child in Need plans
• Preparing court reports and statements
• Attending legal meetings and court hearings
• Working closely with partner agencies to safeguard children
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case recording

Essential Requirements

• Social Work England registration
• Previous experience within Childrens Services
• Strong Child Protection experience
• Essential experience with court work and care proceedings
• Ability to work on site a minimum of 3 days per week
