Learning Mentor - EOTAS Support | Wokingham
Quantum Scholars is looking for an experienced and compassionate Learning Mentor to provide 1:1 support for a young learner accessing Education Other Than At School (EOTAS) in Wokingham.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by helping a young person develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills through personalised support.
The Role
Provide 6 hours of 1:1 support per week (days to be agreed).
Deliver tailored learning support that meets the learner's individual needs.
Build a positive, trusting, and encouraging relationship with the young person.
Promote engagement, confidence, and independence in learning and everyday life.
Support the development of literacy skills and practical life skills.
Help the learner gain confidence with everyday activities, such as using public transport and visiting local shops.
Monitor progress and provide written feedback where required.
About the Learner
You will be supporting a young learner who requires additional support with literacy and the development of everyday life skills. Your role will focus on building their confidence, encouraging independence, and helping them feel more comfortable completing everyday tasks within the community.
Requirements
We're looking for someone who has:
Experience supporting children or young people with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
The ability to work confidently and independently.
A genuine passion for supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.
Contract Details
Location: Wokingham
Setting: Home-based tuition and community-based learning
Hours: 6 hours per week (days flexible)
Start Date: September 2026
