FLT Driver / Labourer

Location: Loughborough, Leicestershire

Duration: 4–6 weeks (temporary but could go on longer)

Pay Rate: £12.71 - £14 PAYE per hour (flexible depending on experience)

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an FLT Driver / Labourer to support a short-term project in an engineering environment. This role involves assisting with a product recall programme, carrying out straightforward rework tasks on lifting equipment.

This is a hands-on position combining forklift driving with basic mechanical/labouring duties, ideal for someone who is reliable, practical, and comfortable working in a workshop setting.

Key Responsibilities

Operating a Reach Truck FLT to move equipment around site

Positioning lifting equipment onto a designated work rig

Assisting with basic rework tasks, including:

Attaching a car battery to power equipment

Installing a connecting cable between components

Supporting testing/operation of units once modified

Moving completed units to storage or dispatch areas

Working as part of a team to complete a high-volume project (approx. 600 units)

Requirements

Valid Reach Truck FLT licence (in-house licences accepted)

Previous experience in a warehouse, engineering, or manufacturing environment

Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

Comfortable with manual handling and repetitive tasks

Reliable and able to work as part of a team

Working Hours

Monday – Thursday: 8:30am – 4:30pm

Friday: 8:30am – 1:00pm

Flexible working options available:

Open to candidates looking for 3 to 5 days per week
