TeacherActive are actively recruiting for an inspirational Teacher of English to join the successful department of our fantatsic client School in Swindon from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated teacher to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach at Key Stage 5 for the right candidate. The school is committed to providing an engaging and ambitious curriculum, enabling every student to achieve their full potential within a caring and inclusive environment.

As Teacher of English, you will:

• Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality English lessons.
• Inspire a love of reading, writing and literature across the curriculum.
• Assess, monitor and support student progress to ensure excellent outcomes.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students can succeed.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to continue developing an ambitious English curriculum.
• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting.
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• A commitment to raising achievement and supporting student wellbeing.
• A proactive, reflective approach to professional development.

• A welcoming and supportive school community.
• Excellent CPD and career development opportunities through The White Horse Federation.
• A collaborative leadership team committed to staff wellbeing and professional growth.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one).
• Two professional references.
