Senior Structural Engineer - Data Centre Projects

Beckenham | Hybrid Working (2-3 Days Office)

£39-£44 per hour

6-Month Contract | Outside IR35

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to support the delivery of a major data centre development within a specialist structural engineering consultancy.

This Senior Structural Engineer role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading technically complex structural projects, managing client relationships and delivering practical engineering solutions from design through to construction.

The successful Senior Structural Engineer will take ownership of a major long-term data centre project, working closely with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams while providing technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle.

The Role

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you'll be involved in:

Leading the structural design and delivery of a major data centre project

Producing structural calculations, technical reports and engineering specifications

Managing projects from concept through to construction

Liaising directly with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams

Attending site visits and providing technical support throughout project delivery

Reviewing structural designs and resolving technical challenges

Supporting project planning, programme delivery and technical coordination

Ensuring projects are delivered in line with programme, budget and quality standardsThis Senior Structural Engineer position offers the opportunity to take ownership of a high-profile mission-critical development within a collaborative consultancy environment.

What They're Looking For

Experience working as a Senior Structural Engineer, Lead Structural Engineer or Principal Structural Engineer

Strong building structures design experience

Experience managing structural engineering projects

Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills

Ability to lead projects independently from design through to construction

Strong technical reporting and communication skillsThe following would be highly advantageous:

Data centre or mission-critical project experience

Experience working closely with contractors during project delivery

Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership

Experience leading multidisciplinary project teamsWhy Apply?

Six-month initial contract with a project expected to continue for up to three years

Hybrid working (2-3 days per week in the Beckenham office)
