Teaching Assistant - SEMH experience
Alternative Provision - KS2 - KS4 - Portsmouth
Full-time - September start

Academics are recruiting on behalf of an Alternative Provision in Portsmouth which caters for secondary aged pupils with social and emotional needs and challenging behaviours who are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join them in September.

They work closely with their local schools to ensure that vulnerable students, whatever their needs, can continue their education in a learning environment that supports them, but still expects that they will achieve the best possible academic, social and vocational results.

They are looking to take on a Teaching Assistant on a full-time, on-going supply contract to start in September. They have a primary and secondary provision so looking for someone with flexibility who would be happy to work across all key stages.

You will be required to support students in class and also on a 1:1 basis, offering academic and emotional support to pupils from KS2 - KS4. Due to the challenging nature of the school, the ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in a similar setting, or with pupils with challenging behaviours in a secondary school.

The successful Teaching Assistant will be proactive, have strong behaviour management skills, be able to build strong relationships with vulnerable students and have the ability to think on your feet.
