Job Title: Youth Worker

Location: Stockport

Start Date: Immediate Start

Salary: £92.63 - £140 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEMH Alternative Provision in Stockport that is committed to helping young people overcome barriers to learning through a therapeutic approach. The setting provides small class sizes, a supportive staff team and a nurturing environment where students are encouraged to build confidence, resilience and achieve their full potential.

The school is looking to appoint a Youth Worker on a long-term basis with an immediate start. The successful Youth Worker will work closely with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, supporting them both in and out of the classroom, using positive behaviour management strategies and effective de-escalation techniques to encourage engagement, emotional regulation and positive outcomes.

The successful Youth Worker will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour

• Proven experience using de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour

• Team Teach qualification is desirable but not essential

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

• A calm, patient and resilient approach

• A genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed
