Shoe Operative (Closing room)

Location: Northampton, NN2

Salary: 14.50 per hour

Working hours: 39 hours per week (Monday - Friday)

Contract Type: Maternity cover

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and dependable individual to join our clients Closing Room Team.

Responsibilities:

Skilled in all aspects of stitching and fitting shoe uppers using a sewing machine.

Meet quality and production targets, working independently and as part of a team.

Prioritise tasks to support production needs and adapt to changes (e.g., urgent orders, machine or material issues).

Communicate production or quality concerns to Team Leader/Supervisor.

Ensure machinery is well maintained and report any issues promptly.

Requirements:

Prior experience in a shoe production or similar stitching/machinist role is essential.

Fully competent in the use of industrial sewing machines.

High attention to detail and consistently high standards of workmanship.

Responsible, reliable, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Strong communication skills and calmness under pressure.

Willingness to train others.

Maintains strict confidentiality with company and personal information.
