Salary: £93.33+ (depending on experience)

GSL Education Kent are seeking a dedicated Facilities Manager / Caretaker to join a welcoming SEN school in Ashford. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual who enjoys practical work, takes initiative, and is committed to ensuring the school site is safe, secure, and well maintained. Due to the school's rural location and limited public transport links, applicants must be drivers with access to their own vehicle.

This specialist SEN school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment for pupils with a range of additional needs. As a Facilities Manager / Caretaker, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school by ensuring the premises remain safe, functional, and welcoming for pupils, staff, and visitors.

As a Facilities Manager / Caretaker, you will:

• Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and basic DIY tasks across the school site
• Ensure the buildings and grounds are safe, secure, clean, and well maintained
• Complete routine health and safety checks, reporting any issues promptly
• Liaise with external contractors and oversee maintenance work when required
• Support the opening and closing of the school premises each day
• Assist with setting up rooms and facilities for school activities and events

To be considered for this Facilities Manager / Caretaker role, you should:

• Have previous experience in a facilities, caretaker, site manager, or maintenance role
• Be practical, organised, and able to work independently
• Have a good understanding of health and safety procedures
• Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle due to the school's location
• Have the right to work in the UK
• Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
