Cover Supervisor - Behavior Specialist / Inclusion Focus - Ellesmere Port

Role Overview & Core Impact
We are searching for a robust Cover Supervisor who can step into diverse classroom environments, establish strong boundaries, and maintain a calm learning enviornment. You will be the calm, assertive presence that ensures learning remains productive, even when the regular teacher is absent.

Behavior Management: Lead classrooms across KS3 and KS4, managing behavior proactively with an authoritative, calm, and positive presence.

De-escalation & Engagement: Utilize positive behavior strategies to diffuse challenging situations, redirect disengaged students, and maintain a respectful, inclusive environment.

Deliver & Support: Ensure pre-set work is completed efficiently, seamlessly stepping into schools across Ellesmere Port to provide consistency for the students.

Boundaries & Rapport: Use strong interpersonal and relational skills to quickly establish mutual respect and understanding with young people.

Requirements
The Profile: Confident, resilient, adaptable, and emotionally intelligent, with a genuine passion for mentoring and guiding students who exhibit challenging behaviors.

Experience: Previous experience managing large groups of teenagers or vulnerable young people (e.g., as a Behavior Mentor, Inclusion Assistant, Cover Supervisor, Sports Coach, or Youth Worker).

Skills: Exceptional classroom control, commanding presence, strong communication skills, and a firm but fair approach to boundary setting.

Compliance: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).

Location: Based in or easily able to commute to secondary schools in Ellesmere Port.
