Job Description: R&D Analytical Scientist

Location: Slough Contract Length: 12 months Working Hours: 37.5 hours/week 

About the Role

This is a fully lab-based position within the R&D Analytics team - Remote working is not available. The successful candidate will support multiple projects in a matrix organizational structure and contribute to analytical development and sample analysis in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Independently perform experimental work, analyze data, and report findings.
• Plan and complete assigned tasks within required timeframes.
• Liaise with scientists and project leads to close out technical reviews.
• Interpret data against specifications and identify trends.
• Communicate progress and escalate challenges to Line Manager or Project Lead.
• Maintain lab operations including stock taking and ordering.
• Document work in electronic lab notebooks.
• Participate in departmental meetings and administrative tasks.
Technical Requirements

Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of protein chemistry.Hands-on experience with:
• HPLC (e.g., size exclusion).
• Electrophoresis (e.g., CE SDS, icIEF).

GC/GC-MS experience is a plus.Familiarity with LC-MS/MS methods for Proteomics, Metabolomics, or Lipidomics is desirable.
Education & Experience

BSc in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Bioengineering.Recent graduates may be considered, but industry experience is preferred.
Training & Development

A tailored training plan will be implemented upon joining, with the expectation that the candidate will begin effectively supporting Protein & Process Analytics activities within 2 months.
