As Compliance Officer, you will be integral to supporting to our continued growth across the UK and further afield. You will be responsible for ensuring that our company's supply chain operations, particularly import and export customs, duties, and taxes, comply with all relevant regulations and requirements.
You will work cross-functionally working with logistics, procurement, and finance teams to minimize risk and enhance the efficiency of our supply chain processes.
This is a newly created position offering the opportunity for someone moving from a practice background to make the role your own and maximise the use of your specialist expertise in industry.
• *Responsibilities**:
- Develop and implement import/export compliance programs, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance on tariff classifications & Commodity codes, valuation, and other customs-related matters.
- Provide guidance on duty and tax implications of products during import and export, and internal transfers.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline customs and trade processes.
- Provide commercial guidance to the business on our Online, Retail & Marketplace / Third Party Sales activities, i.e. Profitability of Shipping costs Internationally, Optimal/ cost affective.
- Identify and evaluate potential supply chain compliance risks, including penalties, fines, and delays.
- Conduct regular audits to identify and address compliance issues.
- Stay abreast of changes in customs regulations and update internal teams accordingly.
- Serve as a key liaison with customs authorities, ensuring smooth communication and resolution of issues.
• *About You**
- Minimum 5 years of experience in customs and trade compliance.
- In-depth understanding of UK and international customs regulations.
- Experience in a practice or consultancy background is highly desirable.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing compliance programs.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing regulations and a dynamic global business environment.
