1:1 Teaching Assistant

Location: Newark & Surrounding Areas
Salary: .58 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Day-to-Day Supply, Part-Time & Long-Term Opportunities

Simply Education is recruiting caring and committed 1:1 Teaching Assistants to work in primary schools across Newark and the surrounding areas from September. Whether you're looking for the flexibility of supply work or hoping to secure a long-term role that could lead to a permanent position, we have a variety of opportunities available.

The Role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil throughout the school day.
• Adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs of the child.
• Build a positive, trusting relationship that encourages confidence and independence.
• Support pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.
• Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs and parents to ensure consistent support.
• Encourage positive behaviour and celebrate progress, no matter how big or small.

We Are Looking for Someone Who:

• Has experience working with children in a school, nursery or similar setting.
• Has a calm, patient and nurturing approach.
• Can build positive relationships and communicate effectively with pupils and staff.
• Is confident supporting children with additional learning needs.
• Holds a Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
• Is reliable, adaptable and passionate about helping children succeed.
