Role Overview:

We are looking for a Senior public cloud platform DevOps Engineer to design and optimize scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure on public cloud platform. You will lead DevOps initiatives, mentor the team, and drive adoption of modern CI/CD, automation, and security practices to enable fast, reliable software delivery.

Requirements

4+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps practices and cloud computing, with a primary focus on public cloud platform.
Deep knowledge of public cloud platform services across compute, storage, networking, and security domains (e.g., cloud compute service, managed container orchestration service, VPC, cloud security service, identity management service).
Proven track record of implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines on public cloud platform (cloud build service, CI/CD platform) and automating workflows with IaC (infrastructure automation tooling, infrastructure automation service).
Proven track record of applying GitOps principles to manage infrastructure and application deployments in cloud environments.
Proficiency in scripting and automation with Python and Shell scripting for infrastructure and operational tooling.
Expertise in containerization (containerisation platform) and orchestration (container orchestration platform/managed container orchestration service), including service mesh (service mesh platform/service mesh platform) and workload identity integration.
Strong understanding of cloud security practices, including IAM role design, key management (KMS), encryption, vulnerability management, and compliance frameworks.
Experience with monitoring and observability using cloud operations platform (Logging, Monitoring, Trace, Profiler) and integrations with tools like monitoring platform and monitoring platform.
Proficiency in version control (version control system) and branching strategies in collaborative the organisation environments.
Excellent leadership, communication, and mentoring skills, with proven experience guiding teams in adopting new cloud practices.
Nice to have: public cloud platform Professional certifications (Cloud Architect, DevOps Engineer, or Data Engineer).
Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and implement innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

Architect and implement public cloud platform-based DevOps solutions tailored to business and the organisation needs. Design and manage cloud infrastructure strategies that enable efficient development, testing, and deployment processes on public cloud platform.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to infrastructure team members, guiding them in building deep public cloud platform expertise and DevOps best practices.
Contribute to strategic planning to define long-term infrastructure goals and drive the adoption of public cloud platform the organisation across the organization.
Evaluate and select public cloud platform-native tools and third-party integrations to optimize CI/CD, observability, and automation workflows.
Design and manage public cloud platform infrastructure components (e.g., cloud compute service, managed container orchestration service, serverless cloud service, Pub/Sub, cloud storage service, cloud data warehouse, managed database service/Spanner) using Infrastructure as Code (infrastructure automation tooling/infrastructure automation service).
Build and enhance secure software delivery pipelines leveraging tools like cloud build service, software artefact repository, and continuous delivery platform/continuous delivery platform. Ensure rollback, backup, and disaster recovery strategies using public cloud platform-native services.
Optimize system performance and scalability by fine-tuning container orchestration platform (managed container orchestration service), networking, autoscaling policies, and monitoring with cloud operations platform (cloud monitoring platform).
Embed security best practices into DevOps workflows, including public cloud platform IAM policies, VPC Service Controls, vulnerability scanning (cloud security management service), and secret management.
Implement cost optimization strategies across public cloud platform workloads, including resource rightsizing, committed use discounts, and monitoring with Billing and Cost Management tools.
Ensure compliance and governance of public cloud platform infrastructure to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, proposing new practices, public cloud platform features, and automation opportunities.
