Our the team is dedicated to designing and developing robust backend services and applications that support the organisation's Commodities and Global Markets operations. We work collaboratively across functions to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions, ensuring our systems remain responsive, efficient, and scalable. Our focus is on maintaining code quality, fostering innovation, and continuously improving our technology landscape.
While the organisation offers hybrid working for many of our roles, this role does require 3 days per week in the advertised location.

What role will you play?
You will contribute as a Backend Java Engineer, designing, implementing, and maintaining Java-based applications and microservices. You will write clean and maintainable code, collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features, and ensure the performance and quality of our applications. You will identify and resolve bottlenecks and bugs, support code organisation and automatisation, and help drive the continuous improvement of our backend systems.
What you offer
Proven experience in backend development using Java (Java 17 or above)
Strong background with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Data, Spring Security, and Spring Batch
Expertise in building RESTful the organisation and microservices architecture
Proficiency with testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito
Experience working with relational database or other relational databases
Experience with container orchestration platform for container orchestration
Experience working with Agile methodology
Experience working with public cloud platform cloud services
